Entertainment, when we are sad because of passing of a family member, or frustrated from losing our jobs, there is something about Entertainment that just makes us extremely happy. Whether it’s music movies or video games, these forms of media has gotten us through alot over the years. Some people think of entertainment as small and meaningless but I disagree. From personal experience, there are many reasons why I think that entertainment is something that can make you truly happy. For example, Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh literally cured my depression in high school, it showed me that even though life can be ugly at times, if you look really closely you find real beauty , that painting captures that beauty perfectly. Entertainment can also be inspirational and enlightening on a wide scale, like how a bunch of scenes in Hamlet have influenced a wide range of media and shaped how modern pop culture is, and also having a three dimensional layered character instead of the one dimensional good guy and bad guy. 9/11 was possibly one of the worst times in American history. No one expected it and it left tons of Americans sad and with out family members who passed at that time. For months people had lost hope and were defeated and also scared, not knowing what will happen next. And then a movie came out in 2002 called spiderman and, even though it is a fictional movie, the fact that it depicted a superhero saving new york city was exactly what Americans needed at that time and it broke box office records. Movies also bring put the most put of the people who make them. In fight club the amount of work that was put in to the cinematography, the story, and especially the acting was nothing short of mesmerizing, especially the performances of Edward Norton and Brad Pitt, they were amazing. They put there all into there role because it is a love and passion for them, they feel joy being able to entertain people with quality acting. This passion is felt through all for.all of entertainment, especially music. Musicians are probably the most passionate people when it comes to entertainment. All the way from the beginning when people like Mozart and Beethoven were child prodigy, they put there heart and soul into what they do which is why the music that they create is nothing short of fascinating. This passion has been passed down to all forms of music throughout the generations, from songs like Don’t Stop Beleive it from the rock and roll genre to Fallen by Alicia Keys of the RNB genre, these great musicians are capable of portraying intense emotions in there songs that almost cannot be conveyed anywhere else. Except, for poetry, which is able the convey emotions in a very creative way that makes you express you feel about anything that is going on. We live in an amazing time because the great thing about today’s world is that we have so many tools at our disposal that can make for great entertainment such as our phones. Not only can we watch entertainment on it but we have cameras and video on our phones to make any type of entertainment ourselves. I did exactly that by taken pictures of my room and writing on why those part of my room makes me so happy. Overall though entertainment when compared to everything else like family and being able to have a steady job can seem very little as far as importance compared to those two, but it still has a pivotal role in society for keeping us going when everything seems rough. Because without any form of entertainment life would be not only incredibly boring, but there also would be alot more sadness as a result so thats why I always thank God for making us the way he did as creative and intelligent beings that can create beautiful works of art in all forms designed to make us happy in its own way. This is one of the reasons I think life is amazing, life is beautiful and life is awesome.

When you think of one play that has influenced all source of media in the past 200 or so years. It’s not hard to see but one inspiration, Hamlet. Hamlet had influenced all, from movie to music, and even video games on the standard for what a character should be and the type of emotions a reader should feel. Personally, I have probably read the play at least 30 times, whether it’s for school or jus even for fun. My favorite scene will always be scene 1 act 1. In that scene an officer named Bernardo comes to releive the watchmen Francisco. When he walks towards him, Bernardo starts to here his footsteps and, since he cannot see him because it is dark begins to get scared until he finally realizes that it is him. Bernardo is shortly joined by Marcellus, and Horatio, who is a friend of Prince Hamlet. To two watchmen have convinced Horatio to stand with them, since the have something extremely shocking to show him. They tell him that the past couple of nights they have seen the ghost of the recently dead king, who appears randomly throughout the night. At first Horatio doesn’t believe them, bit then suddenly the ghost appears before them and vanishes a second later. After that happens they all suggest that they tell Hamlet as even though the ghost didn’t take to them it will surely talk its son. For this scene I actually watched a very unique version of Hamlet that was made in 2000 and in this version it is set in modern times, and Hamlet wakes up to see his dead dad on the outside of the balcony and let’s him in. This is a huge difference compared to the play where the guards find out about the ghost then tells Hamlet.

Music, one of the things that makes us unique as human beings, since humans have lived on this planet we have had some form of music to express out individuality, and give us a universal voice that everyone can understand. Throughout the years music has changed into more and more genres, each with there own unique sound and story. One of my favorite instruments that makes some of the most beautiful sounds is the piano. This instrument has the ability to invoke so much emotion into you simply by shifting the tone of the key. To show some examples of that, I have 5 songs that show the range of a piano. The first one I am going to talk about is a song called NY State of Mind by rapper, Nas. In this song as soon as hear the piano drop, it gives a very menacing sound, which in turn gives you a feeling of unease, or that you are not safe. That’s because he is trying to portray a dark image of where he grew up in New York City, and as he starts rapping, the piano continues with its low keys and then surprises you with a high key which is supposed to convey that same shock that you would feel if you went through his neighborhood. Overall, he captures that emotion in his song perfectly. Next is a rock song by Journey called don’t stop believing. This song to me gives of a sense of motivation, I can guarantee you the start of that song could make anybody turn form having a sad day to a happy one because it is simply amazing. And the keys that they are playing with the piano goes perfectly with the theme of the song because it is bold and in you face but at the same time inspiring. For this third one we will now dive into some classical music by an artist named Hanz Zimmer, his song is time. When he starts, he uses low keys to portray a sense of sadness or loss and then he brings the keys up a little bit and overall, when I hear this song it feels like he tryna make you feel like time is standing still jus like in inception, the movie when time stood still for them. The fourth, and one of my personal favorite songs is Falling by the talented alicia keys. In this song she actually starts it off with her strong vocals and then a couple seconds later, let’s the piano drop. This to me is very significant because she really wants the listener to feel what she’s is saying in the beginning and then make the piano intensify those emotions. Throughout the song, the combination of her voice and the piano gives a very unforgettable and powerful sound. The last song that I’m going to over is hello, by Adelle. This song starts off with a slow tempo from the piano but by the end of the song has a stark difference in tone.

Today I’m gonna talk about scene in one of my favorite movies of all time, Fight club. Even though this movie came out when I was one years old it, it has a sort of timeless aspect to it, simply because it is so well done on a technical level. The movie generally about a depressed man who suffers from insomnia, he one day meets a strange soap salesman who’s name is Tyler Durden, and eventually finds himself living in his squalid house after his apartment gets wrecked. The two men eventually form a fight club with very strict rules and other men who are tired with there boring lives. The scene that I want to talk about specifically is a scene towards the end of the movie. It starts off with The narrator in a call with Marla singer and she calls him Tyler Durden, to his shock. In this moment you can almost feel the shock as his face most likely matches the audiences reaction. She says she’s coming over, and as soon she hangs up Tyler appears in the Nararator’s room. When he sees him, he stands up with intensity and extreme confusion in his face. Edward Norton, who plays the narrator does an excellent job of displaying a sense of shock and confusion as Brad Pitt, who plays Tyler proceeds to give him a look when the Nararator says “why do people think that I’m you”. With that intense music plays as it plays scenes that happen in the movie with what we thought was both Tyler and the Narrator , but we find out that it was the Nararator the whole time who made the fight club and Tyler was most likely someone he made up in his head to excuse himself for those crazy actions that he took in the movie. This scene represents a huge plot twist as we have seen what we thought was 2 people create a club of men who are willing to sacrifice their bodies while also fighting back illegally, while they also did other illegal stuff, and we thought Tyler was the Main culprit, and the Narrator was just the follower but, due to his insomnia most likely he was behind it all along.

my closet.

Where can I get started with this one. This closet has seen many messy and clean days come and go. One thing I take pride in is I don’t buy alot of clothes for my closet, but the clothes I buy last a long time since I tend to grow attached to my clothes. Same goes for my shoes as well, it makes me so happy when I can just put on tryout an outfit that I picked out and it looks so nice on me. I love my closet and I try to keep it as neat as possible for the most part I have my shoes in a shoe rack and my jackets on a hangar while my smaller clothes are in the drawer.

My tv.

One of the main sources of entertainment for me. On here I have all of the main streaming services such as Netflix, hulu and Amazon. I also watch regular TV from time to time and I even watch the news. After a long day from work it’s relaxing that I get to release my stress and watch some TV. I love movies so I also have a bluray player to watch some of my favorites and the quality of the picture and sound is really nice on this TV so that’s an added bonus.

my favorite chair

This chair is very special to my heart. It has the power to cure sadness because everytime I sit on it, it immediately makes my face go from a frown to a smile almost instantly. I usually listen to music and even do my homework in that chair and sometimes, I even forget my bed altogether and just sleep on the chair.

Overall even though I didn’t show all of my room, the opportunity showed are the parts that make up most of the personality of my room. This is easily the best room I have had hands down and I am grateful I have it. I see it as like a sanctuary, or a place we’re I can just settle down and relax my mind. This place can also push me to do my best in whatever I want to do also.

RING RING RING, as the incredibly loud sounds from my alarm woke me up, I began to get out of my bed un enthusiasticly . I was still incredibly tired from doing home work all day and now I have to go to work and deal with customers, it doesn’t matter how much I complain though, because this has been my life for the past 5 months. So as much as I do not want to go to work because of how tired I am, I became used to it by now, almost like a robot that does the same thing every single time. Walking to the bathroom I suddenly feel a short but fierce streak of warmth hit the back of my head, but after 2 minutes it went away, and I brushed it off thinking that it is just the after math of staying up so late. Everything in the morning went as routine, or at least as routine as one getting up early with no sleep can possibly be. I brush my teeth, then take a nice warm shower, which might be the only thing I look forward to getting up as it is very soothing and it, for a second makes me forget about the stress that is to come. After my nice and warm shower I begin to put on my clothes and head downstairs and eat breakfast. Getting the bagels out the pantry, I put them in the toaster and wait till they come out although, “if I woke up earlier I could’ve made my self eggs with toast and jelly” I said to my self laughing because I know that will never happen. As I am finishing up my breakfast I begin to grab my keys and head out the door. Suddenly I feel that same warmth in the back of my head except this time it is more severe. I down on one knee and the pain dosent stop and gets way worse, it was so bad to point where I almost felt like I wanted to cry. At this point I had to call off because there was no way I can go to work like this, then I remembered I already called of three times which is the limit for my job or else I will get written up. Under extreme pain I force my self to get up and somehow make it to my car when I looked at my phone again and realized, today was Friday not Thursday how i thought. With a sigh of relief I go back into the house and back into my bedroom, laughing at myself for a little bit before falling asleep.

Poems are probably one of the best ways we as humans describe ourselves or what goes on in our life in the most unique way possible. From telling people who we are to talking about relationships or a day in the life, writing a poem gives us the freedom to explain those things in very creative ways. Poetry has been going on for about as long as we could write and some of the greatest poets such as Edgar Allen Poe would write poems that at first glance seemed simplistic but once you analyze every word, you realize there are deeper meanings for every single one of them. If you pay attention to how most forms of entertainment are made then you would see that Poetry is arguably the most influential source for movies, music, and video games. Rapping probably has the biggest inspiration from poems because of the way rappers have to play with words with similies and metaphors. The poem that I have read today is a short poem called the beautiful chaos of life by Kim McCrea https://familyfriendpoems.com/poem/82980. Although this is a short poem there is alot of meaning behind not jus the whole message of the poem but also with most of the words. It starts of by saying “In all chaotic beauty lies a wounded work of art” and reading the whole poem I can understand that she is talking her significant person in their relationship and she is saying that for as beautiful as that person is whether it be on the inside or out, they are hurt or broken emotionally. For the next stanza, it says “Beautiful but torn wreaking havoc on my heart “, with this she is still talking about her significant other and she is still calling her beautiful which shows she still has feelings for this person but she also thinks they are heavily flawed and they don’t know what they want, hence why she said “torn” . She feels like she’s more serious about the relationship than her significant other, which is why she says their “wreaking havok on her heart”. This stanza to me is what really made me understand what she was saying in the poem, it goes “camouflaged by insecurities blinded by it all”, right here she simply points out the her significant other is so insecure, and always wanting more that they can’t even notice the person that truly cares about them. The last stanza, which is “I love the way you sit there and don’t notice me at all” kinda has the same meaning as the last one, she just worded it differently, but overall the poem is basically about her expressing her frustrations about how she loves her significant other but she feels like they don’t love her the same way or put in the same effort.

My home, a place that truly makes me feel comfortable and welcome almost every time I step inside. Almost every where in my house is a place of joy, but only one area really is the area that I think about everyday when I’m at work or school and that’s my bedroom. The main function of my room is to not only make sure I have a proportionate bed to sleep on and relax, but also as an area where I can store my everyday needs. My desk which is about 48 inches wide has enough space so that I am able to accomplish my studies or finish anything else that I haven’t got to do at another time. My closet is the perfect place to store all my belongings and paraphernalia, and then you have my tv where I can watch almost anything from movies to tv shows. As you can see my room is like a safe haven for me and I always keep it nice and tidy. The color of the paint in my room is blue and the bed room is in the middle with the tv in front and the closet to the right and desk to the left. I do have some posters to since like I said, this is my safe haven , I tend to costumize it to how I desire. The posters I have or of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jackson may they rest in peace. You might think this is my favorite place in the house, which you are correct but I have more than one, and my second favorite place is the kitchen. Now my kitchen is regular in size about 161 square feet with nice marble countertops, but the main reason why it’s on of my favorites is that we have two touchscreen fridges and 2 big pantries, so yep, you guessed, because of food. Most of the drawers have specific things that go in such as a utensils drawer, a sharp knife drawer etc, this is so we can keep track of certain things that we need to use so we’re not confused. If I had to compare the two I honestly wouldn’t because they make me happy in two different ways, one is a place that I can go to relax after a long stressful day while also getting my stuff done while the other I can go to get a snack or wait until my mom is finished cooking.

Public art and what it stands for are part of what makes up our identity as human beings. Ever since we have been on this earth we have used some form of art, from paintings, to a simple carving to use for display or have evidence that we have existed for as long as we have. Simply put, without art we would never have anything that people can remember us by for years to come. This is the importance of public art as it can shape an artist and where he or she’s from legacy because after they are long gone, that’s one of the things that people in the future will remember you by. This is why I like seeing alot of local art myself, not just in my hometown, but also if I visit another place as well. As far as the type of art I enjoy pretty much everything, from sculptures and paintings, to even tattoos or hand drawings. Anything that gives you the ability to express yourself, and it looks really unique can always make me happy. A local artist that I like here in naples is an artist who goes by Summadaze. Her work is so distinctive and admirable, she is known for hand drawn, painted, digital, and mixed media. She’s not afraid to try out new things which is why alot of her art has a stark contrast as far as subject matter and the type of art. Most of her work I love but I have two that are my absolute favorites. One of them is the Forbidden fruit. this painting speaks to me in so many different ways but Part of what makes it so special to me is the elite shading of the different fruits. I also enjoy the way she plays with realism and stylistic with the fruits being realistic and the lady being stylistic. The other work that I love is her word heart this is a testament to her not being afraid to try new things it shows here with this unique piece of work. Overall all her work is amazing and she definitely is my favorite here in naples, she plays a big part into why I will always see artist as magicians.

Art has shaped us as a human society for as long as we have been here on this earth. It has been a way to show our creativity and express who we are individually as people. From music to theatre, throughout the years, art has had many forms and all of them have been unique in there own way. Out of all types of art, painting has always been one of the most popular methods of crafting simply due to the sheer amount of possibilities that any capable painter has based on their ability to perform. Of course, everybody likes some of the more famous paintings such as the Mona Lisa, or Starry Night, and ,although I love those paintings as well ,my favorite type of paintings are abstract paintings. Now most people would probably ask me what an abstract painting is ,and what I would tell them is that an abstract painting is one that uses perceptible language of any shape, form, color, or line to create a distinctive look that dosent exactly seem like anything anyone has seen before. This type of art to me is an utterance of freedom from the basic rules of what people expect to see. Those basic rules is whats called sensa, which is the qualities of objects or events that stimulate our sense organs. Most paintings and types of art usually stimulates in the same way, where abstract paintings invigorates you in a completely unique way by not focusing on making the picture seem real. One of the best examples of that and one of my favorite paintings is the Tink Tonk.

This painting, which was made in 1980 shows a sense of what I call beautiful disorder, especially in the way the painter patterns the colors. In order to create this look they used different substances such as pumice, volcanic rock, and powder with the paint to create a geometry like design. It’s neon asthetic also fits the time period very well too as neon was very trendy in the 80s.
